Our paints

Behind a company’s success there is always a winning product.

Winning in terms of quality, efficiency, performances.

Stardust powders are products that offer excellent yield, great coverage and perfect adhesion to the substrates. They allow the efficient recovery of the overspray and to obtain film with high thickness (from 50 to 100 microns).

Such characteristics are even more important and obvious the moment these powders are used in advanced painting processes – application by electrostatic spraying, passage in a high-temperature kiln, fusion or reticulation, final polymerization – obtaining durable paints with appreciable mechanical characteristics.

Unlike traditional liquid paints, Stardust’s powder paints are environmentally-friendly, as they are completely high-build due to the total absence of solvents. This characteristic offers many advantages, both at the environmental level – no exposure to harmful emissions caused by the release of solvents, and at the management level – since they are not flammable, they can be stored, transported and handled with the utmost safety.

There is something for everyone

And then there is the range, which is virtually unlimited. In fact, Stardust’s team can study and develop any shade whatsoever based on a sample, in any version or finish, or exactly duplicate colours already available on the market and for which a solution of continuity must be found. All in small batches too.

For interiors

These are the tested Stardust TGIC-free thermal-hardening powders used to paint items made of metallic materials intended mainly for the design sector, for industrial machinery and for all those artefacts located in closed and covered premises: powders that guarantee excellent performances in terms of appearance and durability in time, although they were not conceived for exposure to especially hostile environments.

For exteriors

Construction, automotive and the outdoors are the typical sectors in which the TGIC-free thermal-hardening powders made with polyester resins produced by Stardust are used. In fact, these are painting powders for high-level performances, designed for artefacts intended for outdoor use and therefore highly resistant to the action of atmospheric agents, pollution and temperature changes, capable of keeping the same original colour and brilliance over time. These paints are type-approved Qualicoat Class 1.

A valid alternative offered by Stardust for outdoor applications is represented by polyurethane powders, characterized by the combined use of hydroxylated resins with polyisocyanates in an optimal combination of resins, charges and pigments. Their excellent yield in terms of appearance makes them the ideal solution for painting facades, doors and windows frames, sports items, motorcycles and illuminating bodies. These paints are the super-durable (type-approved Qualicoat class 2) and the anti-graffiti type, which offer excellent performances in terms of resistance to chemical agents, dirt and aging.

Special powders

Stardust has developed several special powders, recommended for the painting of metal sheets and coils (coil coating), for sublicromia or for low-temperature applications (low curing).

For the painting of metal sheets and for coil coating, Stardust has created special polyester powders (T.G.I.C. and T.G.I.C-free) whose chemical nature grants the important added value of post-formability, which makes it possible to obtain folds with T1 and Tzero curvature radii: the surface already painted and possibly decorated is guaranteed the necessary elasticity so as to avoid any uncovering and cracking of the fold edge.

The powder paints for sublicromia, on the other hand, feature a high degree of reticulation and surface hardness, thus allowing the sublimation of patterns and textures in a range of solutions and looks ranging from wood to stone.
Stardust has also paid special attention to the formulation of low-curing paints (with low polymerization temperature): applied just like traditional paints, these special powders allow significant advantages to be obtained, such as energy savings, increased productivity or the possibility to paint very thick metal pieces.

For effect finishes

The encounter between the requests made by the design and building sectors and the different types of metallic pigments (derived from micas, bronze, steel, aluminium, copper, nickel, etc.) has originated painting powders with an extraordinary aesthetic effect.

Metalized, moiré, crumpled, textured, and hammered are only some of the “special effects” that are increasingly applied around us, from modern architectural coatings to elegant design components, from urban furnishing elements to coatings of industrial machinery.
